The 4th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K will return to the beautiful Jacaranda City on Sunday 23 August 2026, with it comes the exciting return of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Heritage Double Entry fast-tracked by Gautrain.

Celebrating its 4th anniversary on Sunday, 23 August 2026, entries for the iconic Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K will open on Thursday 16 April 2026, inviting runners to experience Tshwane’s vibrant streets in the capital city.

Launched in 2025, Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series Heritage Double Entry fast-tracked by Gautrain is an innovative initiative made possible through valuable partner relationships. This exciting entry option offers the perfect opportunity for runners to experience the energy, diversity, and excitement of two world-class 10km road races.

"We are so excited to open the 4th race of the series, along with The Heritage Double Entry Fast-Tracked by Gautrain," says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Series Founder. "In 2025 Runners embraced the unique challenge of taking on two iconic 10km races, and the response from both participants and the wider community was overwhelming. This initiative showcased not only the incredible energy and camaraderie of our events but also the power of strong partnerships - like the one with Gautrain - to create innovative, world-class race experiences that celebrate South Africa’s vibrant running culture. We’re thrilled to bring it back and once again give runners the chance to be part of this extraordinary experience."

"Runners can look forward to a premium experience at both the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K and Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K," continues Meyer. "Each heritage participant will receive a high-quality goodie bag, including an event performance t-shirt, exclusive Absa RUN YOUR CITY Heritage t-shirt, Absa Versus socks, an Absa Visor cap, an Absa drawstring bag, Exclusive Gautrain gift, Exclusive RUN YOUR CITY Series gift and fast-tracked race pack collection. Plus, entrants enjoy complimentary Gautrain transport on race day for both events - just some of the ways that this entry option enhances the runner experience.”

As the official transport partner, Gautrain provides safe, reliable, and efficient travel, allowing runners to focus on the excitement of the races. Together, this partnership helps elevate every aspect of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series.

Excitement Building as Comrades Marathon celebrates 60 Days to Race Day

With just two months to go until the 2026 edition of the Comrades Marathon on the 14th of June, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) can announce that preparations for the 99th edition of the race are moving forward smoothly, with a healthy blend of tradition and innovation. While the runners preparing for the approximately 87km ultra-marathon between Durban and Pietermaritzburg are putting in their final big month of training mileage (and some are running their qualifying marathon before the qualifying cut-off on 4 May), the CMA and its Race Organising Committee (ROC) are hard at work with the planning and logistical preparation that goes into this iconic event.
