Join the celebration at Lake Farm Centre's 30th charity run

Lake Farm Centre invites all families and friends to celebrate a morning in the country with the 30th edition of their annual popular fundraiser, the Lake Farm Centre Charity Run, on Saturday, 8 March. The 30th edition will be commemorated with a special limited-edition T-shirt which will be on sale to the public.

Visitors can support the 30th edition Raffle and enjoy their famous Coffee Shop’s scones & cream, and a wide selection of special savoury and sweet treats. Pancakes and boerewors rolls will be on sale and their Charity Shop and Book store will also be open.

The Lake Farm Centre Charity Run will take place at the Centre in Lakeside Rd and caters for the entire family.
Entrants can choose from the popular 5km walk/run, 10km or the 25km Rolf Kordes Endurance Challenge. Both the 10km and 25km events are EP Athletics Participation League events.

Clubs are encouraged to bring their own gazebos to relax and enjoy the prize-giving and lucky draws together outdoors. Prize-giving starts at 09.30.

The Lake Farm Centre Charity Run is the Centre’s flagship fundraiser which has continued over many years thanks to the long-term support of Investec, Pam Golding Properties, Kingfisher FM and Bukani Print.
Events start on Saturday from 06.00 with the 25km training run, followed by the 10km run starting at 07.00, and the 5km fun walk/run at 07.15.  All finishers in the races will be given a special medal handmade by the residents.

Excitement Building as Comrades Marathon celebrates 60 Days to Race Day

With just two months to go until the 2026 edition of the Comrades Marathon on the 14th of June, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) can announce that preparations for the 99th edition of the race are moving forward smoothly, with a healthy blend of tradition and innovation. While the runners preparing for the approximately 87km ultra-marathon between Durban and Pietermaritzburg are putting in their final big month of training mileage (and some are running their qualifying marathon before the qualifying cut-off on 4 May), the CMA and its Race Organising Committee (ROC) are hard at work with the planning and logistical preparation that goes into this iconic event.
