Special recognition awaits Blue Number Club Members at Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026

Taking place over the weekend of 10–12 April 2026, the organisers of ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’ are raising the bar once again - not only by delivering a world-class Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon (TTOM) experience for every entrant, but also by offering Blue Number Club (BNC) members an exceptional range of new rewards and benefits designed to elevate their race weekend even further.

“Achieving the coveted BNC status at TTOM is a truly remarkable accomplishment,” says Chris Goldschmidt, Chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC. “A Blue Number is awarded to runners who have completed 10 Ultra or Half Marathons, or Trail Runs, earned a gold medal in the Ultra Marathon five times, or won the Half Marathon, Ultra Marathon, or any Trail Run distance three times. There is no joining fee and no annual membership fee - it’s a recognition of dedication and achievement.”

“The BNC represents the heart and history of TTOM,” continues Goldschmidt. “These are runners who have shown extraordinary commitment to the event over many years, and their loyalty has helped shape the legacy we celebrate today. Honouring the BNC is not just important - it’s essential. They remind us why this race is so special, and we are committed to ensuring they continue to enjoy the recognition and experience they richly deserve.”

BNC Members who are awarded a permanent race number enjoy priority pre-entry, preferential seeding and post-race hospitality, among other benefits in accordance with their status as titans of the race.

“The BNC is incredibly special and important to TTOM,” says Wade Bromfield, General Manager of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon. “These athletes are not only dedicated runners - they are the storytellers, the tradition keepers, and the living legacy of this event. Their commitment over decades has helped shape the spirit and identity of ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’. That’s why, from 2026 onwards, we’ve made a concerted effort to ensure that BNC members receive the extra-special treatment they’ve earned. In the months leading up to race day, we’ll share more information pertaining to these rewards and benefits.”

BNC runners can look forward to an exclusive, premium race experience, featuring:

  1. Early Entries
  2. Free Entries for runners with 25 medals or more

Excitement Building as Comrades Marathon celebrates 60 Days to Race Day

With just two months to go until the 2026 edition of the Comrades Marathon on the 14th of June, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) can announce that preparations for the 99th edition of the race are moving forward smoothly, with a healthy blend of tradition and innovation. While the runners preparing for the approximately 87km ultra-marathon between Durban and Pietermaritzburg are putting in their final big month of training mileage (and some are running their qualifying marathon before the qualifying cut-off on 4 May), the CMA and its Race Organising Committee (ROC) are hard at work with the planning and logistical preparation that goes into this iconic event.
