About this event

The 2022 Rotary GTR which was scheduled to take place Saturday, 20 August 2022 was postponed.

The Rotary GTR (previously the Greatest Train Race) started from humble beginnings in 1987 with only 400 participants and grew continually over the past 31 years to a maximum capacity of up to 20 000 entrants. The event attracts people from mainly Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Limpopo and even Lesotho!

The last race took place during 2019 at the Witbank Dam and to revive the GTR again we thought it to be a good idea to start the race where we left off, at the Witbank Dam.
