The regulations issued by Athletics South Africa in response to the call for personal safety in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic for the hosting of road races are such that it makes no practical and financial sense to attempt organizing a race that conforms with all the prescripts. Although these regulations currently involve races for 2020, the uncertainty about what the position will be on 30 January 2021 when our race is scheduled to take place, convinced the AGM of our club as well as our main sponsor, Wonderpark Shopping Center, to take a timely decision before any unnecessary expenses are incurred. It was decided by both parties not to continue with the hosting of the race in 2021.

Please be assured of our continued commitment to your involvement with our race and we all pray that come 2022, everything will be back to normal as to enable us to revive our hosting of the much sought after Wonderpark Akasia Road Race.
